Vllaznia`s midfielder Ferid Borshi, an Albanian version of Hansi Mueller!

There is no doubt that Shkodra is the “Cradle of Albanian Football” not only because this sport was born there but also because many talented players came from the Vllaznia team of this old traditional city.

One of these football stars was Ferid Borshi, undoubtedly one of the best midfielders of his time that Vllaznia had, and indeed Albanian football during the 70s and 80s.

He had a broad vision of the game in midfield and distinguished technical preparation. Often from the stadium steps voices were heard comparing Borshi with Hansi Mueller not only for his close appearance to the german player but also his technical skills as a footballer, so we did not exaggerate when we put “an Albanian version of H. Mueller” in the title of this article.

Borshi was born in Shkoder on July 7, 1957. Almost his entire life has been dedicated to football and Vllaznia. Unquestionable part in the contribution given to the team of his hometown, in winning 5 trophies both for the title of National Champion and in winning the Republic Cup.

1979, 1981.

He left, or rather was removed from football as a player for political reasons, something that nevertheless never prevented Borshi from finally breaking away from this sport, but on the contrary, he continued it as a coach, working in this role for many years at the “Vllaznia” Academy, just as he worked as part of the technical staff and the first team, winning the championship title in 1998 and 2001, while being part of the technical staff led by Hysen Dedja and Dervish Haxhiosmanovic.

He also served as a youth coach for many years with the Vllaznia youth teams and most recently with the “Don Bosko” Academy.
Ferid Borshi is now included in the “Hall of Fame” of the “Vllaznia” Club and holds the well-deserved title of “Master of Sports”
